The protagonist is a thief that arrives at the town at the behest of a letter he received to get back an heirloom for a shadowy entity. When the thief arrives at the town, he realizes that everything looks strangely familiar even though he's never been there before. As he makes his way to the heirloom, the people he encounters begin to disappear and be replaced by horrors that can't possibly exist. By the time he realizes that he's been tricked, he's in way too deep and his only goal is to escape the town.
As the thief delves deeper into the twisted reality of the town, he uncovers fragments of memories from his past that he can't quite piece together. Each step he takes closer to the heirloom feels like a descent into madness, as the horrors become increasingly nightmarish and his grip on reality begins to slip. Despite the mounting fear, he must muster every ounce of strength to stay focused on his only objective: escaping the clutches of this terrifying trap.
